Our system — deployed in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and now Haiti — is less than 10% the cost of traditional EEW and can be operational in months. Grillo Pulse sensors installed along active fault lines stream real-time data to Grillo Cloud, which detects earthquakes automatically and can drive warnings through mobile networks and apps before shaking arrives.

How it works
Deploy Grillo Pulse sensors
Pulse sensors are installed along active fault lines, on mains power or a 12 V solar and battery system. Pulse Cellular needs no wired internet, and GPS timing, with network time as a fallback, keeps stations in step.
Grillo Cloud detects the event
Grillo Cloud picks P-wave arrivals at each station, associates them across the network, and estimates location and magnitude as soon as four stations have detected the event. Every event lands in the catalog and on the live map.
Alerts reach people in time
On the Enterprise plan, we scope warning distribution with you: mobile networks, apps, or connected devices, giving people seconds to take cover. Locations closest to the epicenter may feel shaking before a warning can arrive.
Independently validated
Researchers from the Czech Academy of Sciences, USGS, and University of Oregon published an independent evaluation of Grillo sensors in Seismological Research Letters (2024) — confirming accuracy and performance. Grillo has also outperformed Mexico's government EEW system (SASMEX) in head-to-head detection speed tests.
